Marcel Ciolacu, the Embassy of the Order of Malta to Romania was invited to attend two extraordinary concerts of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, marking 145 years since the first group of Jewish people received Romanian citizenship.<\/p>\n<p>The orchestra was led by renowned conductor Zubin Mehta, with performances by the famous violinist Lisa Batiashvili on Sunday 29 September, and the distinguished pianist Martha Argerich on Monday 30 September.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the two performances, Ambassador of the Order to Romania, HE Roberto Musneci said, \u201cThese were extraordinary events with exciting programmes, including Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Bruckner.\u201d Adding, \u201cThe Philharmonic Orchestra poignantly chose this programme as it is a repeated that of a concert brutally interrupted by the so-called &#8216;Legionnaires&#8217; as part of their persecution of the Jewish people, shortly before World War II.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Diplomats, religious and political authorities, as well as public all ages, filled the Atheneum and Sala Palatului in Bucharest on both days, enjoying an unprecedented cultural event and celebrate this important anniversary for the Jewish community in Romania.<\/p>\n","news_gallery":"yes","news_gallery_elements":[{"id":3983,"url":"https:\/\/romaniaembassy.orderofmalta.int\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2024\/10\/04-10-2024.jpg"},{"id":3985,"url":"https:\/\/romaniaembassy.orderofmalta.int\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2024\/10\/04-10-2024-04.jpg"},{"id":3987,"url":"https:\/\/romaniaembassy.orderofmalta.int\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2024\/10\/04-10-2024-05.jpg"}],"news_excerpt":"The Embassy of the Order of Malta to Romania was invited to attend two extraordinary concerts of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, marking 145 years since the first group of Jewish people received Romanian citizenship."},"news_categories":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/romaniaembassy.orderofmalta.int\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/notizie\/3980","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/romaniaembassy.orderofmalta.int\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/notizie"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/romaniaembassy.orderofmalta.int\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/news"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/romaniaembassy.orderofmalta.int\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/notizie\/3980\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/romaniaembassy.orderofmalta.int\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3980"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
