On Thursday 20th at the National library, the Georgian Ambassador, Her Excellency Tamar Beruchashvili organized an exhibition focused on Georgian language and its three different alphabets developed in Georgia since the third century.
The celebration is fixed on the day when 45 years ago, the citizens of Tbilisi peacefully marched in the streets of the Capital to oppose the Soviet plan to remove their language from schools, public offices and effectively day to day use.
The peaceful demonstrations were successful and became and epitome of Georgian National identity.
The Sovereign Order of Malta Embassy gladly participated to the event together with historians, authorities and other members of the diplomatic corp.
