Last week, H.E. Franz Salm Reifferscheidt, Ambassador at large for the Roma community, visited Romania to discuss with the Order Relief Corp, SAMR, the status of the projects dedicated to the Romas.
He was accompanied by Mr. Stephan Wenckheim, a member of the Order in Austria and known industrialist, who will gradually take over Franz’s role over the coming months.
On this occasion a small reception was organized at the Embassy residence to honor the leadership and work of Ambassador Salm over the years. Among the participants there were H.E. Nicolae Comanescu, Prime Minister’s diplomatic advisor, the Secretary of the Industry and Services Commission, Mrs. Marciana Ozmen, the charge’ d’affair of the Nunciature, Mons. Tuomo T. Vimpari, the Austrian ambassador H.E. Adelaide Folie with her spouse and the new head of the International Federation of the Red Cross, Mrs. Emilie Goller. Several members of the Order based in Bucharest who know well Ambassador Salm’s work, also joined the event.
The Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta celebrated Franz and his wife Barbara’s contribution to the Charisma of the Order “ Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum”, in their work with Roma community not only in Romania but also in the other countries in Central Europe and in the Balkans.
