Yesterday, at the Diplomatic Residence, our Ambassador, Mrs. Marialaura Ciampoli Musneci and their family, had a dinner with the Apostolic Nuncio, HE Miguel Maury Buendia, in honor of Msgr. Mario Codamo, Counsellor of the Nunciature at the end of his mandate in Romania.

Beside marking the contribution that Msgr. Codamo made in Romania and the outstanding relation with the Sovereign Order of Malta of which he is a Chaplain, we had the opportunity to share views on several topics of actuality. The concerning situation at the border with Ukraine, the risks of a flow of refugees, echoing the words of the Holy Father to pray for a peaceful resolution of the impasse. Also, the ongoing reform of the Constitution of our Sovereign Order and further opportunities to start additional projects to fulfill our mission of serving the poor and sick leveraging the international recognition of our Sovereign Order to ease the activity of our volunteers were discussed. At the same time there was ample space for anecdotes and stories stemming from the vast experience of His Excellency Msgr. Maury Buendia.

A very pleasant evening that follows a similar one with HE the Metropolitan Archbishop Aurel Perca before Christmas and a good opportunity to reconfirm the friendship and collaboration between our Order, the Apostolic Nunciature and Msgr. Codamo as he will start his new posting.
