The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Romania, with the support of Asociația Almater Home and the Carmelite Monastery in Ciofliceni, has launched an initial support programme for families living in particularly difficult conditions in the Ciofliceni area of Ilfov County, Romania.
Today, 24 June 2026, the Sovereign Order of Malta marks the Feast of Saint John the Baptist, the Patron Saint of our Order. To celebrate this important occasion, the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Romania hosted its annual diplomatic reception on 22 June 2026. The reception was held following the Romanian Association’s Holy Mass celebrated at Saint Joseph Cathedral and co-presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio, HE Giampiero Gloder, and the Archbishop Emeritus of Bucharest, HE Ioan Robu. Exceptionally this year, the reception and Mass were held in advance of the traditional feast day.
On 22 June 2026, a Holy Mass celebrating the Feast of Saint John the Baptist, the spiritual patron of the Sovereign Order of Malta, took place in the Chapel of Saint Joseph Cathedral in Bucharest. The event brought together ten Members of the Order in Romania, as well as clergy and guests, in a moment of spiritual communion and reflection on the mission of the Order.
