The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Romania took part in the annual meeting of the Romanian Diplomatic and Consular Corps, held in Bucharest under the leadership of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Oana Toiu. Heads of foreign missions accredited to Romania were also invited to attend the plenary session and the accompanying official events.

This year’s gathering took place at the National Opera. The proceedings were opened by the President of the Senate, HE Mircea Abrudan, who underlined the role of Romanian diplomacy in promoting regional stability, strengthening strategic partnerships, supporting Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, advancing economic diplomacy, and continuing Romania’s accession process to the OECD.

Foreign Minister Toiu then presented Romania’s diplomatic priorities in the current complex geopolitical context, with emphasis on economic diplomacy, continued support for Ukraine, the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, the evolving security environment within NATO, and the importance of Romanian communities abroad.

The plenary session was followed by a concert performed by the Orchestra of the National Opera and a dinner, offering an opportunity for dialogue among Romanian authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, and other invited guests.

At the conclusion of the evening, Ambassador Roberto Musneci KM stated, “This annual gathering is an important occasion to better understand Romania’s priorities in a challenging regional and global context. It also offers a valuable opportunity for dialogue with Romanian authorities and diplomatic colleagues, reaffirming the spirit of cooperation that guides our presence and activities in Romania.”
