On the afternoon of 21 September 2026, during his visit to Romania, the Grand Hospitaller of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, HE Dr Josef D. Blotz, gave an exclusive interview to Mr Bogdan Chirieac of DCNews.

The approximately 30-minute interview offered an opportunity to present the history, mission, and humanitarian activities of the Sovereign Order of Malta in different parts of the world, with particular reference to its work in crisis and conflict settings, including Ukraine, Gaza, and Venezuela.

HE Dr Josef D. Blotz also outlined a number of the principal projects currently being implemented in Romania by the Order’s Relief Corps, Serviciul de Ajutor Maltez în România (SAMR/Maltez), highlighting its role in supporting vulnerable communities and strengthening the Order’s humanitarian presence in the country and beyond.
