On Tuesday 19 November, the Association of the Order of Malta in Romania (AROM) held Mass for the Feast of All Saints of the Order of Malta at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral in Bucharest.
19 November each year is marked as the Feast of All Saints of the Order, where Members of the Order honour and ask for the intercession of all those men and women amongst our predecessors as Members of the Order of Malta.
In an intimate Liturgy, six Knights, one Dame, and one Candidate Member of AROM, including Ambassador of the Order to Romania, H.E. Roberto Musneci, were joined by H.E. Archbishop Giampiero Gloder, the Apostolic Nuncio to Romania and the Republic of Moldova; Mons. Ioan Robu, Metropolitan Archbishop Emeritus; Fr. Gabriel Daniel Popa, Chaplain of AROM; and other guests.
Following the Holy Mass, Ambassador Musneci said, “Together, a small group of the Order’s Association in Romania gathered and prayed for all the Saints of our beloved Order.” Reflecting that this day refers not only to those who have been formally recognised by the Church through beatification or canonisation, the Ambassador added, “We also prayed for all deceased Members, family, friends, volunteers, and benefactors of the Order; those of Our Lords the Sick and the Poor who have died; and all the Faithful Departed who have no one to pray for them.”
Furthermore, the Order of Malta in Romania prayed for the repose of the soul of those Members of the Order who have died in the past year, including Father Imre Kozma, founder of the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta (MMSZ); Victoria Ana Farkas, the head of the Arad Branch of the Order’s Relief Corps in Romania (SAMR); and countless others.
May their souls, and all the souls of all the Faithful Departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
