Annual Reception for the Diplomatic Corps in Romania
27/08/2025

On 26 August 2025, for the occasion of the annual gathering of the Diplomatic Corps, President Nicuşor Dan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana Toiu hosted a reception for ambassadors accredited to Romania, as well as dignitaries and representatives of civil society.

In his address, President Dan underlined that, in this period of global tensions, any attempt to create divisions among partners and allies must be firmly rejected. He reaffirmed that Romania will continue to uphold and promote the values that underpin its strategic alliances. Minister Toiu reiterated the President’s message, further highlighting the unifying strength of common cultural roots and the power of music, particularly on the eve of the George Enescu Festival opening in September.

The reception also provided an important opportunity to reconnect with diplomats and Romanian authorities after the summer break, to share perspectives and plans, and to coordinate priorities for the months ahead.

At the conclusion of the event, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Romania, HE Roberto Musneci KM, stated, “This annual reception remains one of the most valuable occasions to coordinate activities between diplomats and authorities. For our Embassy, it is also a traditional opportunity to present our mission, history, and the role of the Sovereign Order of Malta—both in Romania and internationally. It was also a pleasure to meet again H.E.George Gabriel Bologan, Ambassador of Romania to the Holy See and the Sovereign Order of Malta. His tireless efforts to foster dialogue and strengthen cultural and spiritual ties reflect the same values of service and solidarity that guide the Order’s global mission”.
