On Monday 8 December 2025, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Romania, HE Roberto Musneci KM, together with the Embassy’s Minister Counsellor, Mrs Maria Gabriella Gambacurta, attended the annual Evening of Civil Courage hosted by the Romanian Royal House (Casa Regală a României), at the invitation of HM Margareta of Romania.

The award ceremony was also attended by HRH Prince Radu, who delivered the keynote address, and HRH Princess Sofia. The event was organised with the support of Mrs Cătălina Stan, a long-standing adviser deeply committed to social inclusion initiatives.

During the evening, students and teachers who have distinguished themselves at the national and international levels, across a wide range of disciplines, including the arts, robotics, biochemistry, mathematics, sport, and social impact projects, were honoured by Her Majesty and His Royal Highness. Among the most enthusiastically applauded awards was that presented to the Romanian Paralympic climbing team.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ambassador Musneci stated, “It is always an honour and a pleasure to receive an invitation from Her Majesty to this important event, which so clearly reflects the Royal House’s commitment to social inclusion and celebrates the remarkable excellence achieved by Romanian and Moldovan students and educators. I am also particularly pleased that our new Minister Counsellor was able to attend, underlining the Order’s appreciation for this initiative.”
