On 25 August 2025, the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Romania joined colleagues in bidding farewell to a distinguished diplomat and dear friend, Her Excellency Rana Mokaddem, Ambassador of Lebanon to Romania.

After 12 years of service in Romania, Ambassador Mokaddem will soon return to her country. Throughout her tenure, she has been widely admired for her warmth, professionalism, and thoughtful approach — qualities that earned her the respect of the wider Diplomatic community and the Romanian authorities alike. Until her departure, she continues to serve as Deputy Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Romania.

Her long assignment has made her one of the most knowledgeable diplomats about Romania, with Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Romania, HE Roberto Musneci KM, noting her dedication, “We will all miss our friend Rana, but I am certain she will remain close to Romania, continuing to strengthen the diplomatic and commercial ties between Lebanon and Romania. I will be delighted to remain in contact with her, whatever future responsibilities she may take on.”
