On Friday, May 10th, Ambassador Musneci and his wife Marialura had the pleasure of attending the Garden Party hosted by the Romanian Royal Family at Elisabeta Palace in Bucharest, alongside members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Romanian and Moldovan Governments, members of the parliaments from Bucharest and Chișinău, as well as from academia, culture, sports, and entrepreneurship. Representatives from the Latin and Byzantine Catholic Churches, the Orthodox Church, Protestant Churches, the Jewish Community, and the Muslim Community in Romania were also present.

Her Majesty Margareta, the Custodian of the Romanian Crown, His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania, as well as Their Royal Highnesses Princesses Sofia and Maria of Romania, met with members of the Sovereign Order of Malta who attended the event. Her Majesty Margareta and His Royal Highness Prince Radu are decorated with the Order of Pro Merito Melitense.

May 10th is a Romanian national holiday with triple significance. On May 10th, 1866, the Romanian Dynasty was founded. On May 10th, 1877 was proclaimed Romania’s independence. On May 10th, 1881, Carol I was crowned as the first King of Romania.

The Representative Orchestra of the Ministry of National Defense, the 30th Guard Brigade “Mihai Viteazul,” and the National Gendarmerie Cavalry contributed to the event.

Royal suppliers participated, offering products from their companies to the Royal Family’s guests. A stand with royal books from Curtea Veche Publishing was made available to the guests.
