Investiture of the new Knights of the Order of Malta
08/03/2023

On Friday 3rd March, three new knights of Magistral Grace were officially admitted in Order of Malta and in particular in Order of Malta Romanian Association – AROM.
After two years of preparation Pio Domenico Cesare and Federico Cianciosi received the Church Robe and the Decorations. Ferenc Tischler, General Director of our Relief Corp Serviciul de Ajutor Maltez din Romania – SAMR, joined the Association after many years at the leadership of the volunteers NGO.
The ceremony was done, as per tradition, “intra Missa”. The Holy Mass was officiated by the Vicar Archbishop Cornel Damian together with the Head chaplain of the Sovereign Order in Romania, father Gabriel Popa and several other priests who contributed to the preparation of the new brethren.
The ritual admission was conducted by the President of Order of Malta Romanian Association , Count Tibor Kalnoky.
Ferenc, Federico and Pio have been actively involved in the past years not only to support the existing structures of the Order in Romania but also in opening the new centre in Bucharest for disadvantaged children in Colentina and in supporting the response to the Ukranian crisis. This was done not only with financial resources but more importantly with a personal engagement in Romania and well into Ukraine.
We are all very proud of them joining the ranks of our knights and Dames and the Embassy would like to express the most joyous congratulations for this achievement and the confidence that these additional forces will further strengthen the Order’s presence in Romania.
