It was a great pleasure to see the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra’ John T Dunlap, sitting beside the Italian President H.E. Sergio Mattarella and the Italian Prime Minister H.E. Giorgia Meloni, during the “La Grande Opera Italiana Patrimonio dell’Umanità”. The opera performance, hosted in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Verona, was conducted by Riccardo Muti. The presence of the Grand Master is further proof of the close relations between the Order and Italy.

The Order also participated to the military parade for the Italian Republic Day (Festa della Repubblica) on 2 June, including the Order’s Military Corps (Italian: Corpo speciale volontario ausiliario dell’Esercito Italiano dell’Associazione dei cavalieri italiani del Sovrano militare Ordine di Malta), which is an auxiliary body of the Italian Army for health and humanitarian assistance.
