On 17 April 2025, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Romania, HE Roberto Musneci KM, attended Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) Mass at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta, Malta.

The Holy Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Charles Jude Scicluna, Archbishop of Malta, together with a number of Dames and Knights of the Order in Malta. At the end of the celebration, Ambassador Musneci stated, “Visiting Malta is always a great emotion. Our history and our spirituality connected to the island is so vivid—particularly at this time of the year. I want to express my deepest thanks to our brethren for their hospitality.”

St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta is called a ‘co-cathedral’ because it shares the function of being the Bishop’s seat with St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina. It was built by the Order between 1573 and 1578, having been commissioned by Grand Master Jean de la Cassière as the Conventual Church of Saint John.
