As every year, the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Romania participated to the pilgrimage in Lourdes together with the Romanian Association Order of Malta (AROM) members, volunteers and, above all beneficiaries, our Lords the sick and the poor.
This year, the gathering went finally back to pre-pandemic numbers. Over 8200 participants with 1200 maladies from all over the world led by Grand Master the 81st Prince of the Order H.M.E.H. Fra’ John T Dunlap, the Grand Commander H.E. Fra’ Emanuel Rousseau, the Grand Chancellor H.E. Riccardo Paterno’ di Montecupo and the entire Sovereign Council alongside the Cardinal Patron, His Eminence Cardinal Gianfranco Ghirlanda, the Prelate H.E. Luis Manuel Cuna Ramos and many other higher ranks prelates and members of the Order.
The Romanian Association AROM, joined with 29 participants among which 23 beneficiaries and volunteers, the Chief Chaplain, Father Gabriel Popa, five Knights and Dames including the Ambassador Roberto Musneci and his wife Marialaura.
As usual, this pilgrimage is a unique opportunity for prayers, help to those in need and reflections. Lourdes is the place where, more than anywhere else, members of the Order, volunteers and spiritual guides can bring new energy into the 1000 years old Charisma “Tuitio Fidei, Obsequium Pauperum”.
