Royal reception in honour of the Republic of Moldova

On 1 October 2025, Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania hosted a reception at Palatul Elisabeta in honour of the Republic of Moldova. The guest of honour was the President of the Parliament of Moldova, His Excellency Igor Grosu.

Romania was represented by the President of the Senate, His Excellency Mircea Abrudean, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Oana Toiu, together with several members of the Government. Numerous diplomats, military officials and representatives of civil society attended, once again highlighting the strong bond between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

In their addresses, Her Majesty Margareta and President of the Parliament Grosu underlined Moldova’s path towards European integration and the Euro-Atlantic values reaffirmed during recent elections with Romania’s support.

At the close of the event, Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Romania, His Excellency Roberto Musneci KM, remarked, “We have witnessed on many occasions the enduring bond between Romania and Moldova, and the significant role of the Royal House in promoting European values, particularly in these times of global tension. It is always a pleasure to take part in Royal House events and to be welcomed with such friendship by Their Majesties and their team. I am deeply grateful for the continued warm dialogue and collaboration with the Sovereign Order of Malta.”
