In the evening of 24th of June, the Embassy of the Order to Romania hosted the Order’s annual reception at the Diplomatic Club in Bucharest.The guest list included a wide array of members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Romania; representatives of the Romanian Government and Parliament, both from the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate; representatives of religious authorities and communities in Romania; as well as members of civil society and the business community.The evening’s opening remarks were delivered by Ambassador Musneci, who briefly presented the Order’s mission and activities in Romania and around the globe. The Ambassador was followed by HE Luca Niculescu, Secretary of State in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who recalled the longstanding and continually deepening relations between Romania and the Order. After the speeches, the guests enjoyed a musical performance from the classical quartet “Artis”.Following the eventful day, Ambassador Musneci stated, “I am thrilled that we successfully held two outstanding events for Saint John Day. This morning saw the three most recent Members of AROM—who were formally admitted to the Order last year—celebrate their religious investiture together with the rest of the National Association.”The Ambassador added, “This evening, the Embassy hosted our annual reception, which too was a great success, seeing a great turnout of friends and colleagues from Romania and the wider international community coming together.”“It is also important to note that this year marks an even greater number of countries that the Order enjoys formal diplomatic relations with—where the current total stands at over 100 countries, as well as Permanent Member status at the United Nations, as well as diplomatic relations with the European Union, African Union, and others,” explained Ambassador Musneci.
