At the 5 December 2024 meeting of the Sovereign Council of the Order of Malta in Rome, three new members were formally admitted to the Romanian Association of the Order, where James Michael Wilson and László Csatlós have both entered as Knights, and Kinga Péter as Dame.

After the announcement the Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Romania, HE Roberto Musneci, stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Kinga, László, and James as members of the Order and formally admit them to the Romanian Association.” The Ambassador added, “Their admission is the much-deserved recognition of their individual, long-term, tireless, voluntary dedication to the work, spirit, and charisma of the Order—which is rooted in our religious, chivalric, and hospitaller traditions. We greatly look forward to their investiture ceremony next year.”

As well as meeting the requirements for entry to the Order, each of them have supported the Order’s work over a great number of years, including through the Order’s Relief Service in Romania (SAMR), the Romanian Association (AROM), and/or the Embassy of the Order to Romania:

· James has been keenly supporting the Order for over 15 years, and is the communications lead for the Embassy and AROM, as well as assisting SAMR with visibility and social media. James is in the Pool of Experts for Malteser International, and is a member of the Blessed Gerard Society (Federal Association USA) and the Three Kings Society (Holy Family Hospital). He volunteered in the Order’s refugee, COVID-19, and Ukraine responses; has personally led charitable activities and donations for the Order, including in Romania, Ukraine, and Kenya; as well as participating in many of AROM events and pilgrimages.

· László has been an active member of the SAMR for 16 years since 2008. From 2021 he has served as the Vice President of the SAMR Branch in Micfalău, where he is actively involved in running the activities and contributing to the success and growth of the organisation—always striving to make the community a better place to live for everyone. He has volunteered both at home and abroad, and has committed his time and energy to helping the sick and poor. László is also an enthusiastic supporter the AROM’s pilgrimages to Lourdes.

· Kinga has been actively involved in the activities of SAMR for 15 years, in particular with the Sfântu Gheorghe branch, as a leader of the children’s group. She holds weekly group meetings for children aged 4 to 10; participates in helping the needy through donations; organises collections, workshops, and camps; represents the organisation and takes an active role in various projects; as well as supporting AROM with pilgrimages to Lourdes. Kinga’s work with children, includes faith formation, community-building programmes, and the organisation and implementation of evangelisation weeks, where she helps the life of her local parish and other communities.
