On 1 October 2025, Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania hosted a reception at Palatul Elisabeta in honour of the Republic of Moldova. The guest of honour was the Prime Minister of Moldova, His Excellency Dorin Recean.

A model of courage and fidelity, he remained steadfast in communion with the Holy Father during the harsh years of communist persecution.

Celebrating Armenia’s National Independence Day in Bucharest
On 22 September 2025, the Embassy of Armenia, together with the Armenian community in Romania, celebrated Armenia’s National Independence Day. This year’s celebration took place at a critical juncture, as the first concrete steps towards building a lasting peace in the Caucasus have begun. While the road ahead will require perseverance and dialogue, the presence of Turkish diplomats and business representatives at the event was warmly noted — a signal of hope and openness that resonated strongly within the diplomatic community and among all participants.

Farewell to the Ambassador of Italy to Romania
Today, the Ambassador of Italy to Romania, HE Alfredo Durante Mangoni, bid farewell as he concluded his diplomatic mission in Bucharest. The occasion was marked by warm words of appreciation and recognition for his service. Vice Prime Minister Cătălin Predoiu and the Apostolic Nuncio to Romania, HE Archbishop Giampiero Gloder, delivered heartfelt speeches highlighting Ambassador Mangoni’s contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and to the wider diplomatic community in Romania.

Signing of Book of Condolences at the Embassy of Ukraine
The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Romania deeply regrets yet another tragic occasion to sign the Book of Condolences at the Embassy of Ukraine. This time, it was to honour the memory of 21 elderly civilians who were deliberately killed while queuing to collect their pensions in a rural village where no military targets were present.

Romanian Relief Corps supports Jubilee celebrations in Rome
From 16 to 30 August 2025, the Romanian National Relief Corps of the Order of Malta (Serviciul de Ajutor Maltez din România / SAMR) deployed eight volunteers across two medical teams to Rome in support of the Jubilee celebrations.
